About

I am CJ — a Computer Science student at NYU who specializes in building extremely efficient, high-throughput systems that are just as visually compelling as they are architecturally sound. I just completed an Artificial Intelligence, Data & Machine Learning Engineering internship at NIKE in Beaverton, OR, and I'm back in New York for the NYU semester. The route that got me there is below.

How I work

The data layer is the product

Most tools that feel bad feel bad because the model underneath is wrong. I would rather spend a week on the schema than a month on the symptoms.

A number you can defend

Analysis is only finished when it survives a follow-up question. I build toward figures that hold up when someone pushes on them.

Restraint is a skill

Photography taught me that what you leave out decides what the viewer sees. The same holds for an interface and for a dashboard.

Where I have been

Atlanta

Pace Academy · Student

Through 2023

Where it started. First computer science coursework, including AP Computer Science Principles, at Pace Academy in Atlanta, run alongside two varsity sports and a full course load. The habits from that period — prioritizing across competing commitments, managing time rigorously, executing under pressure — carried forward into everything after. Atlanta is still home base.

  • Dual-commitment prioritization across academics and varsity athletics
  • Rigorous time management
  • Performance under pressure
  • Team coordination
  • Operational discipline
  • Relationship building
